About the event

Where does creativity come from? 20th century artists Jean Arp, Hannah Hoch, and Max Ernst -to name a few-  found answers to that question on the unconscious and the fortuitous. They defied convention and praised these principles for revealing and unlocking the true and conflicting realities of the everyday. With that in mind, it seems as though similar principles applied by the Dadaists have gained a renewed interest in our contemporary times. From the current overflow of visual information in our social media news feeds, to the emergence of graphic filters in platforms such as Instagram or Tik-Tok, this quirky and interactive webinar will explore the origins of the Exquisite Corpse as an strikingly relevant and liberating art technique that marked an artistic shift in the dawn of the 20th century. This will be a 60 minute Zoom event (talk 30 minutes with 30 minute participation/discussion). Pre-registration required; pay-what-you-can: choose from an amount, or select a free ticket.
